- WIUP-FM is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is required to operate in such a way to serve the "public interest, need and convenience."
- WIUP-FM has a diverse program schedule designed to meet the needs and interests of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and surrounding communities. That programming includes numerous musical formats, locally and nationally produced public affairs programs, local and national news and sports coverage, and coverage of special events on the IUP campus and the surrounding communities.
